A new year - a new resolution!

Well Happy 2014 everyone!  Last year's resolution to blog more and keep up with the Art Journaling Calendar challenge failed miserably didn't it!  Shameful!  And 2013 went so quickly.

So here I go again.  I am going to try and blog more and therefore try and spend more time creating (or vice versa - I should spend more time creating and therefore have more to blog!).  It is not that I did not do any crafting last year - I did but not as much as usual.  I think the mojo was a little bit lost in 2013.  So hopefully 2014 will be different.

So…….. spent yesterday creating the January page for Kate Crane's Art Journaling challenge.  Loved doing it and I honestly think I would be a happy lady if I just spent all my time doing backgrounds!  It is so therapeutic!

Hope you like it.  I will endeavour to get some pics up of other projects done in 2013 just to prove to myself that it wasn't a craft less year!

Enjoy!

February Art Journal Page

Hi Everyone!  And a very belated Happy New Year to you all!  One of my new year's resolutions is to try and blog more (not doing very well so far am I!)  January has just whizzed by and can't believe it will be February this week!

The snow has now all gone - bit sad really as I do like the snow.  And it has been replaced by the rain which I HATE!  So to cheer myself up have spent most of the day art journaling.  (The little one has been at her friends so have had a bit of time to play!)  I am determined to do the Kate Crane Art Journaling Calendar Challenge for all the months this year and I have done January's (just not posted it!) and kept up to date and written something for each day.  So my thoughts have been on doing February's for a while and this is what I came up with.  The stamps are from the Valentine digital stamp set by the Octopode Factory coloured with Inktense pencils and the background is done by various layers of acrylic paint (I got very messy!).  I am really pleased with the result. Hope you like it!

Have got quite a few other art journal pages waiting in the wings to put on the blog - just need to take some photos of them!  I have to say I have totally fallen in love with art journaling!

Enjoy and bye for now! Tx

Fab day at Art from the Heart

Had an absolutely super day today. Did a class at art from the heart with Dyan Reaveley creating a canvas. It was really interesting to see how each class members' canvas turned out - we were all following the same instructions but they all ended up so different. It also gave me the confidence to have a go myself with the stack of blank canvases that I have been building up over last year!;-)

Anyway this is the final piece ready to be hung on my bedroom wall. Would thoroughly recommend this class!

Can't believe its the end of October!

Well it's shameful!  I have not blogged since the summer (well if you can call it that!).  Where has the time gone.  So my October resolution is to make sure that I blog more often (mmmm- how long will I meet that resolution!).  The last few months have whizzed past.  Have spent a lot of time making cards for my stall at various craft shows and I have totally fallen in love with art journalling.  This is something completely for me (which is probably a good thing as my hubby just doesn't get it!)  and its all about what I want to create!  I will post some of my journal pages at a later date but for now this is my October one for the Kate Crane monthly journal page challenge.  Really pleased with the image which I came across in a magazine- really unusual and perfect for the Halloween month!  Enjoy!

Bye for now!

Artsy Crafts - rusty relic magic!

Hi Bloggers!
Not had chance to get to the mac this week to update the blog on the fab time that I had at Artsycrafts on Sunday.  I could only make one of the three days that Leandra and Lin were running but what a day!  Crafting just about solidly from 8.30 in the morning to 5pm at night.  I met some wonderful people (Sharon - Artist Trading post and Rachel and Janet who were on my table - stay in touch ladies!)  We made a 'rusty relic' which involved sssssooooo many techniques from painting to working with clay, to making image transfers  to rusting  and lots (and I mean lots) of wire work!  This is the end result.  Thanks to Leandra and Lin - I had a fab time!

Very busy at the moment prepping for new classes and have a lot of commissions for cards which I need to get finished in the next couple of weeks, as well as making all the cards for the craft fairs that I have stalls at!  Its a good job the rain is keeping me inside in my craft room!  :-)

Bye for now!
